Last weekend we planted a little garden on our patio, of mostly edibles. We’re growing basil, oregano, thyme, mint, strawberries, and our neighbour gave us a couple of tomato plants. I’m thinking of planting some edible flowers as well, maybe pansies or nasturtiums.
What’s good around the web is a weekly series where I share some of what I’ve been reading around the web. Each week I’ll be posting links to five nutrition related articles, good recipes, and just general good reads. I hope you enjoy it!
If you’ve got at article or recipe you’d like to see featured, please email me.
What’s good around the web?
1. Have you got a picnic or bbq to go to this month? Taking a fruit salad? Check out this watermelon serving bowl!
2. A reader sent me this article about why cake and beer look so tempting at night. It’s an interesting read, particularly the parts about willpower and habits on the second page.
4. Speaking of sugar, the FDA has rejected a request to change the name of high fructose corn syrup to ‘corn sugar’. Hurrah.
5. Scientists are working to to ‘fix’ the flavour of those tasteless out of season tomatoes. I’m not sure I like the sounds of this.
